Access and Organize
The program Symbaloo allows educators to organize all important resources and tools in a one-page format. The live links and color coding enables easy access to all that you might need as well as the possibility to put your own classroom curricular needs in one place to share with teachers, parents and of course students. My Common Core Math page has 104 direct links with lesson plans that correlate to CCSS Math standards gathered by clusters for K-12 instruction. It is in use by more than 1000 teachers currently. Easy to learn and easy to use. You'll love it.

This session would provide teachers with an understanding of "Personalized" and "Personal" learning and how blended learning and Google tools can be leveraged to provide learning environments tailored to the unique needs of each student. Print Your World
In this session, participants will learn about the high school based 3D printing project at the Frostig School in Pasasdena, CA.  The Frostig School is a non-public school whose students all have Specific Learning Disabilities  During this course, students built 3D printers from scratch, created their own "corporations", developed prototypes and presented them.  Additionally, students created blogs and videos to document the process.  All of this had its back bone in the California Common Core and could not have been possible without the support of CUE LA!

Student-Led Conferences and 20% Time Projects for Elementary Classrooms
For the past few years, I have invited my second and third grade students every fall to join me and their parents in a half-hour conference in which we discuss their strengths and areas for growth, set a goal for the year, and plan next steps for everyone involved. I quickly realized that while involving students in these kinds of conversations was a step in the right direction, it would not alone ensure that students made sufficient progress in building on their strengths, improving their areas for growth, and accomplishing their goals. I developed structures to support them at home and in school -- including follow-up conferences throughout the year and class time for goal-related work and presentations as well as shared note taking and audio recordings. I use similar structures to assess and discuss students' reading and writing. They provide individualized parent education and help students direct their own learning and experience success, while developing a growth mindset. Please join me for an extended conversation in which I discuss my system for student-directed conferences and goal monitoring and share resources.

What Is Project-Based Learning? How Can I Start?
What if instead of reading a textbook on Evolution, students could learn through making stop-motion movies about the evolution of animals? What if instead of a book reports on "Diary of Anne Frank," students could make PSAs to prevent genocide?

Project Based Learning (PBL) empowers students to learn through making projects that combine academics with solving real-world challenges. Learn how a growing number of teachers are combining PBL with technology to create fun and engaging learning experiences to help students master 21st-century skills. Participants will also create their own project based lessons online.
